Study Finds Link Between Post Discharge Physical Activity & Lower Readmission Rates

A recent study from the University of Texas, published in the Journals of Gerontology, explored the link between physical activity levels for recently discharged older patients and readmission rates.  The researchers found a significant association between mean daily steps taken after discharge and 30-day readmission.  Steps were found to be the strongest predictor of readmission among known readmission risk factors.
